AI Engineer | Artificial Intelligence Engineer

What we are looking for
We are looking for a brilliant and motivated AI Engineer to join our highly talented team of engineers, developers and scientists. You will work on the improvement of AI-based investment strategies by enhancing the existing stack or proposing and implementing new technologies when needed.

Your workflow will be heavily team-oriented and project-based, with frequent interactions with other teams and opportunities to present work to clients and stakeholders.
You will join the Axyon AI Labs unit and will report to the VP of Artificial Intelligence.

  • Design and execute experiments to enhance AI-based investment strategies with an empirical, scientific and methodical approach, delivering incremental improvements (examples: integration of additional data sources, improved feature engineering, implementation of advanced AI models, optimization, analysis and monitoring)
  • Research emerging AI technologies and propose them at the appropriate stage
  • Prepare and present high-quality reports of your team’s work to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other teams to industrialize, test, document and deploy the improvement / new technology, integrating it with the existing codebase
  • Master Degree in a STEM discipline with a focus on AI/Data Science (e.g. graduate coursework, thesis, projects, etc.)
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience or PhD
  • Proficiency with the Python Data Science stack, familiarity with SQL, Linux and CLI
  • Proficient English understanding and written production, great presentation and communication skills
  • Care for code quality: you know how to ensure that the code you write is maintainable, reusable and well-tested
  • A general interest in finance/quantitative modelling
  • Time-series modelling and forecasting with Machine Learning
  • Developing/maintaining AI models in production, MLOps methodologies and containerisation (Docker)
  • Project-based workflows and/or Agile development methodologies (e.g. Scrum)
  • Financial data and providers such as Factset, Refinitiv, Bloomberg etc.
  • Scientific publications or contributions to open-source projects

Software Engineer

What we are looking for
We are looking for a brilliant and motivated Software Engineer to join our highly talented team of engineers, developers and scientists. You will mainly work on designing, developing and maintaining our backend systems and collaborating tightly with our machine learning team to ensure consistent and efficient data processing and monitoring.
You will engage in team collaborations and should expect to work in a demanding and inspiring team-oriented environment. You will join the Product Development Team and will report to the Product Manager.

  • Designing, scoping, implementing, testing, deploying and maintaining software and data pipelines at the crossing between AI and quantitative finance
  • Improving and maintaining the efficiency and scalability of our codebases, proposing and implementing solutions that will remove bottlenecks and improve delivery time
  • Data engineering: management, integration, cleaning, processing, feature engineering design and analysis
  • Remain up-to-date with industry trends and recommend new technologies, patterns and workflows at the appropriate stage
  • Master Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field (alternatively, a scientific degree and relevant professional experience will also be considered)
  • 2+ years of experience developing/maintaining production software
  • Proficiency with Python software development, and familiarity with DevOps methodologies, database management (MySQL), Linux and CLI
  • Care for code quality: you know how to ensure that the code you write is maintainable, reusable and well-tested
  • Broad understanding of core concepts in AI/machine learning and general interest in finance/quantitative modelling
  • Proficient English understanding and written production, good overall presentation/communication skills
  • A high degree of autonomy and initiative/go-getter attitude: you know how to get yourself unstuck when facing complex problems
  • Teamwork spirit, curious mindset and a strong drive to learn and grow professionally
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure) and/or concurrent, parallel and distributed computing platforms (e.g. Spark, Dask, Hadoop)
  • Experience with MLOps methodologies and/or automating routine tasks
  • Experience with NoSQL
  • Experience with containerisation technologies (Docker)
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g. Scrum)
  • Experience with financial data and providers such as Factset, Refinitiv, Bloomberg etc.
  • A PhD or scientific publications or contributions to open-source projects
