With more than three decades of experience in asset management and capital markets, Raffaele Jerusalmi is a distinguished leader in the European financial landscape. He has held a number of senior executive positions across Italy and the UK.
At the outset of his successful career, Raffaele headed the Italian fixed income trading division at Credit Suisse First Boston and was a member of the Proprietary Trading Group in London.
Returning to Italy, he joined Borsa Italiana in 1998 as Head of Equity, Derivatives and Fixed Income Markets. Following the merger with the London Stock Exchange, he went on to serve as CEO of Borsa Italiana Group from 2010 to 2021. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), where he sat on the Executive Committee and held the role of Global Director of Capital Markets.
Raffaele has also held vice-presidency roles in several key financial institutions, including MTS, Monte Titoli, and Cassa di Compensazione e Garanzia. Since 2018, he has served as President of Elite SpA. Today, he continues to contribute to the business world as a Non-Executive Director at illycaffè SpA.
In recognition of his significant contributions to the Italian financial system and the broader economy, he received the title of "Ufficiale Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana" in 2025, and appointed "Cavaliere dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana" by the President of the Republic in 2019.
Raffaele holds a degree in Economic and Social Disciplines from Bocconi University in Milan.
