With 20+ years in asset management, Carolina has transitioned to the fintech world to harness technology and make personalised institutional investments accessible to individuals - giving them a voice through their money.

At the end of 2024, Carolina created Vitruvya, a technology platform designed to enable individuals to expand their perspective and achieve financial independence. It makes investing simple, transparent and founded on freedom of choice, so that individuals can challenge conventions and allocate capital to companies that reflect their values and priorities. Vitruvya is built on blockchain and AI technologies that unlock new possibilities. It partners with wealth and retail distributors as well as asset managers to deliver personalised institutional portfolio management to individuals.

Before launching Vitruvya, she run Arabesque AI for two years, a technology platform helping portfolio managers to construct efficient customized single-stock portfolios with AI-driven alpha signals.

In 2019, Carolina joined Schroders’ Global Management Committee as Global Head of Product, Solutions & Quant. She was involved in various technology projects, including mass customization and blockchain technology aimed at delivering personalized investment tokens.

In 2013, she assumed the role of Global Head of Solutions at Lombard Odier IM, where she pioneered sustainability initiatives long before they gained widespread attention. She spearheaded the integration of ESG risks across asset classes and developed some of the first SDG-aligned thematic investment propositions.

Carolina boasts an extensive quantitative background and spent nearly a decade working in Bob Litterman’s quantitative team at Goldman Sachs AM. She began her career 20 years ago with factor-based investing, which has since evolved into more adaptive AI models.

She holds a PhD in Finance from London Business School, an MBA in Finance from the Université Catholique de Louvain, and a BSc in Economics from Université Libre de Bruxelles. Fluent in Italian, French, and English, she possesses diverse interests that encompass modern art, architecture, theatre, skiing, sailing and rowing.
