Giovanni Beliossi
Giovanni Beliossi is a financial markets expert, bringing decades of experience in alternative investments, with hedge funds representing a core area of focus. He is Head of Investment Strategies at Axyon AI, following an initial collaboration that began in 2020 as a Business Advisor.
At Axyon AI, he plays a strategic role in strengthening client relationships, cultivating new partnerships, and contributing to the ongoing development of the company’s internal capabilities.
Alongside his work at Axyon AI, Giovanni is an Advisor at Astarte Capital Partners, where he previously held the position of Managing Director for Europe. His past roles include Director and Senior Strategy Advisor at Auriel Capital, a firm active in the ESG space, and Founder of FGS Capital, a boutique specialising in systematic, non-directional long/short portfolio strategies.
Earlier in his career, he was Associate Director of Hedge Funds at First Quadrant, a quantitative asset manager focused on institutional investments, overseeing European long/short equities and non-U.S. multi-asset portfolios. He also held research and consulting positions at BARRA International and the University of Bologna.
Since May 2025, Giovanni has been a member of the Bank of England’s Artificial Intelligence Consortium (AIC) which aims to provide a platform for public-private engagement to further dialogue on the capabilities, development, deployment, use, and potential risks of artificial intelligence (AI) in UK financial services. He is also a board member of the International Association for Quantitative Finance (IAQF).
He did doctoral studies in Finance at London Business School, has a Master in Financial Economics from the University of Essex, a Laurea in Economics at the University of Bologna and is a CFA Charterholder.
