What we are looking for

We are looking for a motivated Junior System Administrator to join our highly talented team of engineers, developers, and scientists. You will collaborate for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software systems and related on-premise and cloud infrastructure. You will mainly work on ensuring continuous, optimal performance of IT services and support systems and their upgrade as the company expands and its IT needs increase.

You will collaborate closely with our Head of IT with best-in-class technology and participate in technical research and development to improve the performance and security of our environment. 

For this role, you need to have:

  • Experience in building scripts, tooling, and automation for computing environments
  • Experience managing and configuring office hardware devices and servers
  • Experience in configuring network hardware and software
  • Experience in configuring and managing Operating systems (Linux/Mac/Windows)
  • Basic familiarity with cloud systems (e.g. AWS/Azure) 

Nice to have:

  • BSc Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field (alternatively, a scientific degree and relevant professional experience will also be considered)
  • Previous experience in similar roles (1-3 years)
  • Basic familiarity with DevOps principles, practices and tools
  • Proficient English understanding and written production
  • Problem-solving attitude with good attention to details
  • Teamwork spirit, curious mindset, and a strong drive to learn and grow professionally

Location

This is a full-time position based in Modena, Italy. We will expect you to work on-site (in the office). Afterwards, a flexible schedule might be arranged subject to demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
